It returns the number of cells of a given cell range that meet a specific criterion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The syntax of the function is the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COUNTIF<\/strong>(<\/em>range, criterion<\/strong>) <\/p>range<\/strong>: The cells or range of cells we want to count.
criterion<\/strong>: It is the criterion that defines which cells of the range should be included in the count.

The function is case insensitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can use the wildcard characters, question mark (?) and asterisk (*), in criteria. A question mark matches any single character; an asterisk matches any sequence of characters. If you want to find an actual question mark or asterisk, type a tilde (~) before the character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
