This is what the function <strong>MEDIAN<\/strong> calculates. It is one of the functions that Excel has implemented to calculate the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.test4u.eu\/excelpedia\/calculate-the-central-tendency-using-excel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Central Tendency (opens in a new tab)\">Central Tendency<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other main functions that you can use in Excel to calculate central tendency are the <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"AVERAGE (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.test4u.eu\/excelpedia\/the-average-function\/\" target=\"_blank\">AVERAGE<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MODE (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.test4u.eu\/excelpedia\/the-mode-function\/\" target=\"_blank\">MODE<\/a><\/strong> (replaced by the <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MODE.SNGL (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.test4u.eu\/excelpedia\/the-mode-sngl-function\/\" target=\"_blank\">MODE.SNGL<\/a><\/strong> and  <br><strong>MODE.MULT<\/strong> functions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the syntax of the <strong>MEDIAN<\/strong> function<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>MEDIAN(n1, [n2], &#8230;)<\/strong><\/p><cite> <strong>n1, n2, &#8230;<\/strong> : They are the for which you want to calculate the median. <br><strong>n2, &#8230;<\/strong> : Optional  arguments that can be up to a maximum of 255 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>If the length of the set is an even number then MEDIAN will calculate the AVERAGE of the two middle numbers.
