Required Permissions for TEST4U

TEST4U requires certain permissions to work properly.
It is highly recommended to run TEST4U as Administrator. If this is not possible you must allow TEST4U full access to certain folders:

  • The TEST4U installation folder (usually at C:Program FilesInfolearn)
  • The application data folder (usually at C:Users{your username}AppDataRoaming
  • The C:test4u_printer folder for the questions that require printing.

During its installation TEST4U requires administration privileges to install the infolearn_service (required for the preparation of certain questions) and the software printer driver used for the questions that require printing.

Antivirus – Firewall

Every file included in the TEST4U installation has been tested and passed from all the known antiviruses.
During its installation and the preparation of the questions TEST4U needs to access certain folders and registry values.
Usually the antivirus programs and the firewalls do not interfere with this process.
It has been reported though (especially when the security settings are set to highest) to appear a warning window from your antivirus software informing you that a program is trying to access these areas.
If you do not allow this TEST4U will either not be installed correctly or the question will not be properly prepared. This could lead to various errors and reduce your overall software experience.
When this is the case, we propose to add TEST4U to the exception list of your antivirus of firewall software.
